A couple decades ago, a creative director I greatly admire told me the really talented people in this business are creatively ambidextrous — top-shelf art directors can write good copy and the best copywriters can execute visually. In the years since, I’ve been fortunate to work with the kind of amazing ADs he was talking about. Each has helped grow in my design skills.
